I’m building OpenFate, a platform for BaZi, astrology, and self-discovery. I’ve been thinking about what it would take for someone to feel comfortable recommending it to their own audience.

The affiliate terms are straightforward: 25% recurring commission on eligible paid purchases, including subscription renewals, with a $50 payout minimum. What I can’t offer yet is reliable EPC data. The program is still young.

I’d like to hear from creators who cover astrology, relationships, or spirituality. What would you want to see before testing a new product—time to try it yourself, clear tracking, payout history, or something else? Blunt answers are welcome.

Is there a way I can make money from my chess site?

I've got a page on my personal site that lets you play against over 100 different chess engines in the browser. It doesn't have many users, but the users it has are highly engaged. I've got 1.5k page views from 64 users in the last month.

It's not enough traffic to run ads, but I was wondering if affiliate marketing or another method could bring in some money from the page? But I'm not sure what would be appropriate for the page.

I applied to the chess.com affiliate program but they denied me.

Anyone got any ideas on how I could monetize it?

If you’re going to promote clickbank offers…

and want to make the most money possible in the safest way…

You might aswell build a list.

When you build a list first then you can start growing it.

When you grow it you’ll have an asset that pays you over and over again.

Where as if you promote to offers directly to clickbank products…

You do get paid, but the traffic you generated will be gone.

Instead of building your own asset you’re building someone else’s.

That’s exactly what I’m doing. Building my own list first.

I was looking at how companies like HubSpot and others approach partnerships with third-party software sites, and it got me thinking about CPC vs the traditional affiliate model.

I recently came across Software Finder, where SaaS companies can get traffic from people already comparing software and pay per click instead of giving a percentage of the eventual sale.

Seems like an interesting option if you already have a solid website and conversion funnel, since you're mainly paying for relevant traffic and handling the conversion yourself.

Has anyone here tested CPC partnerships for SaaS? Curious how it worked compared with a normal affiliate setup.
