Why is the Internet Marketing world so circle jerk?

Rant:

People. Internet marketing...everyone is a "thought leader" just posting a sterile series of the same Google friendly "content". Go on LinkedIn and you see the same thing. If there is any engagement it's other "thought leaders" giving the poster a genericly professional rub down.

Go to any conference and it's low level recycled information that's wrapping paper for a sales pitch. Go watch Larry Kim do anything and he'll name drop whatever product he's selling so many times it'd make a drinking game that'd cause liver failure.

I ran an agency for four years and had a positive exit. I created the same content and posted the same stuff. I'm still in the marketing world and I have to say, it's sad stuff. #ppcchat is a decent group and there are pocket communities but it's so rare.

I feel like I'm the only one that feels this way! I cringe when I feel like I have to dance the jig to keep my professional connections and visibility in the marketing world.

Rant over. I think we can do better and be more sincere.

Hi guys new here

Hi guys I'm new here.

I have a niche Idea for my website.

I would like to write a blog about people getting scammed in a certain niche, and eventually offering them some sort of an educational program for them to buy. ( not my product but to dropship someone's else)

Any Ideas what kind of information I need to make this Idea into reality?

example:

How do I know which domain is good.

How can I know if my niche is a good Idea to SEO it ( if you know what I mean ), how do I research my keywords for example.

Is it possible to dropship someone else's product on my blog ?

How does it work in generally.

How do I make more Money with my 22K Youtube Channel ?

Hey guys, good morning. I have asked this question here last week but I have not gotten any tangible or enough advice yet on how to make a living with my account. I am running a Youtube channel with 22K, It's PETERSON HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

I review Fragrances, perfume for men and women. I am just not making money, with Youtube ads, it's around 300 dollars, the biggest amount I had once was 450 dollars.

I would like to ask you guys for more advice where I turn this around and start making at least one thousand a month. I've been with Amazon Associates, this sucks. The commission is simply too low.

I have teespring, and I have not sold one shirt for five months. I am having a lot of visits per days, more than 10k. My channel is very active and I upload two or three videos per week.

So, something is missing, something I am not doing right.

Any advice is Welcome.......I hope you guys have a great Weekend. a

What's the best way to record and edit a webinar?

The webinar will be somewhere between 45-90 minutes in length.

I'll be using Google Slides and voicing over each slide.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to record each slide individually multiple times to get the best one and then eventually piece together all 50+ slides later on for one seamless presentation?

OR:

Go over each slide 5-10+ times in a row to get the best one and then go back and delete all the other ones later on.

I hope that makes sense?

Free is best, but open to paying if need be.

What's the best software or program to use for a Mac?

Or any tips with what I'm trying to accomplish greatly appreciated!

Scaling ebooks sales to external channels/sources?

I've been able to publish some ebooks and print versions on Amazon and other stores with some moderate success, but am looking at ways to scale and leverage this further. Does anyone have any ideas?

For example, I thought of creating a 1 pager landing page using something like a GumRoad or other service and then driving ads to that or using affiliate networks (e.g. Clickbank etc)?

Good SaaS competitor comparison page?

Are you a fan or a hater of SaaS competitor comparison pages?

I've always found them to be so polarizing.

Writing SaaS competitor comparison pages is one of the toughest things to do well.

Usually, one of two things end up happening:

  1. You write a hyper-critical monologue that harms your reputation
  2. You write an uninformative, thinly-veiled generic pitch

Check out Drift's comparison page with Intercom.

They take a classy approach to a very difficult page to pull off by addressing the elephant in the room, using lots of social proof, and making low-commitment asks.

Notice that they don't slam Intercom at all. In fact, complementing their competitor is actually a pretty genius move to build more trust and credibility with the reader.

They also really focus on WHO each tool is for, and force the reader to self-select. Product person? Intercom. Marketing/sales person? Drift.

Some marketers fear that remote working might affect brands

A 234-respondent survey in the UK found that 63% of marketers believed that their brands could be compromised due to the need to work remotely.

The survey was conducted by Marketing Week at large organisations. It found that 32% of the respondents believe remote working was rare until recently, when COVID-19 quarantine measures have been enforced. 92% meanwhile, believed that remote working will become common soon.

While marketers have genuine concerns about how their working teams will manage remote work during the quarantine, only 10% believe that their organisations would be compromised should everyone work remotely.

Using a custom link shortenr

Bit.ly is the perfect example, but there are lots of vanity URLs around too. They help promote your brand or website (for example, abc.de/website), or a cause (dona.te/help). And since they are shortened, users are less likely to fuss over typing. I mean, it's easier typing a short URL rather than url.com/ineedhelptoday, right?

Thinking about doing Freelance Internet Marketing

I wanted to start freelancing in internet marketing and I was wondering if it was a difficult thing to get in to. I'm currently interning at a marketing company (as a graphic designer) and it's a small company (the guy's office is the basement of his house) but I'm able to ask him different questions and he shows me how to do things like use WordPress and Joomla. Over time I thought about it but I think I want to go all the way and do freelance marketing. I guess my question is how do I start doing that? What are the exact skills I need in order to do that and is it Difficult to do digital marketing on your own? And at what point in learning the various parts of marketing do I know that I'm ready to go freelance? Any advice would be much appreciated!

The 3 Instagram Hashtag Commandments - the comments are a graveyard, 'dead' hashtags are worth it, and you never want to use more than 27 of them

I help run goso.io, a rule-abiding Instagram growth tool... and one of the most common questions we get is how to optimize hashtags.

They're a (rare) built in follower-acquisition channel, purposefully created to help users find posts like yours.

Growing without them puts you at a handicap. So after managing thousands of Instagram profiles, we've boiled down hashtag usage to 3 core principles:

1) Use 27 hashtags. While Instagram allows for 30 hashtags per post, it penalizes those who actually max out. Staying just under the limits allows you to get the full exposure without being throttled.

To get the fullest effect, post equal parts large hashtags (the ones with millions of posts), medium hashtags (less than a million posts), and small hashtags (less than 250k) posts. Big ones like #love & #coffee are so popular that you're unlikely to ever be ranked or listed there for more than a few seconds. Smaller ones simultaneously have less competition & more niche audiences, often meaning they're viewed for longer & by more interested people. If a 'dead' hashtag is very specific to what you're posting about, you can win a top listed post for a very long time, especially if you're one of the few high performing posts in that #graveyard.

2) Copycat your competitors. There's plenty of hashtag research tools out there, but we prefer to do them more personally & directly: by checking similar posts/accounts that make it to our Explore page & noting down the hashtags they use (especially when multiple Explore-page-posts have one in common). Another option is to pay for the hashtag research, there are a lot of useful companies that can provide this service for you if that's your preference.

A quick note on this, don't keep spamming the same 27 hashtags. This too is monitored (especially if you misuse one and get flagged by a user for using an irrelevant hashtag), so keep varying between a larger list of hashtags & keep em relevant.

3) Don't hashtag in the comments. As we mentioned before, hashtags are one of Instagram's few built-in follower-acquisition tools... and they don't appreciate when you hide them. Ideally for Instagram, the hashtags are there for followers to see as clearly as possible, which means within the post description. When you hide them in the comments, Instagram penalizes their weight for your post and you're less likely to be ranked on hashtag pages or the explore page.
